Read my tea leaves

As the Clipse would say, Hot Damn! (check the remix). This was sat on my window ledge for about a week before i finally got round to listening to it. This is what Hip Hop/Soul is supposed to sound like. Hard drums, Deep yet smooth b-lines & powerful emotive vocals. If Mary J. sung over these beats, we would all be hailing an epic return. As it is, many of us out there will never know this album exsists. Which would quite simply, be a disgrace. All the best elements of RnB are incorporated somewhere on this disc. What is it with me being late on all these great albums lately. Anyway, needless to say this now takes pride of place in my annual favs list and will make an appearance on a post on the subject. My one sour note is I now have to wait until the 1st album (Have a Cup of Green Tea Dosage I: Shades of Green) is delivered. Cot Damn!

And out of the blue she came. All top notch production & Jill Scott Flavouring. Teisha is a singer/songwriter/poet in the right sense. Deeply written, conscientious & Honest, this is quiet simply a superb window into the woman's perspective. Smooth as this is though, I can't shake the feeling of a rawness about the way it's put together. That's not to say that Teisha isn't an accomplished artist, far from it. But I'm not sure why & the fact is it's a damn good album regardless. The injections of spoken word are perectly placed & don't come across as contrived (unlike other albums i've listened to recently). This definitely one to add to the collection. ow come I never heard of this lady until now. I;m ashamed of myself. Whoever picked the wrong album at the warehouse, thank you very much, the mistake is appreciated. Although I hope that this isn't due to become a regular occurance.
